GEORGE TOWN: Penang Amateur Fencing Association, with the cooperation of Touche Fencing Club of Kuala Lumpur, will jointly co-host the Touche International Junior Fencing Championship on Saturday.

The two-day competition is scheduled to be held at the Straits Quay Convention Centre in Jalan Datuk Keramat here.

Penang Amateur Fencing Association (PAFA) secretary Lim Peng Jin said fencers from Hong Kong and Singapore, together with Malaysian exponents will be pitching their talents over the weekend.

He said about 150 young fencers, between the ages of seven and 14, have confirmed participation, but the organisers are expecting last minute entries.

Peng Jin said the competition was divided into 12 boys and girls individual categories and the boys and girls Under-10 and Under-12 team categories.

He said the Fencing's Foil Grand Finals was into its eighth year, but this was the first time it was being held outside the Klang Valley.
