ALOR STAR: Kedah Amateur Athletic Association (KAAA) will host the 60th edition of the KAAA Open Athletic Championship 2012 at Darulaman Stadium here on on May 11.

KAAA secretary S. Govindarajoo said the two-day championships were open to athletes aged 13 and above and each athlete was allowed to represent one team only.

The competition for men will comprise the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m, 3,000m steeplechase, 10,000m, 10,000m walk, 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 4x100m, 4x400m, long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus, javelin and shot putt.

The women will compete in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m, 5,000m walk, 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 4x100m, 4x400m, long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus, javelin and shot putt.

He said events with less than three participants and also during the competition, would be cancelled.

The entry fee is RM2 and RM6 for individuals and teams respectively with registration closing on May 3.

Govindarajoo said the team managers meeting will be held at the KAAA meeting room at Darulaman Stadium on May 10 at 5.30pm.
