GEORGE TOWN: Fans of Formula 1 will have the golden opportunity to meet Mika Hakkinen or "The Iceman", the two-time F1 champion at the lobby of the G Hotel tomorrow.
The meet-the-fans session, from 1.30pm to 3pm, is hosted by Johnnie Walker in conjunction with its party later in the evening at the Penang Turf Club which is expected to attract more than 1,500 guests.
"Hakkinen is making his first trip to Penang and is looking forward to meet his fans here," said Compass Communications Sdn Bhd spokesman Prakash Nara.
Hakkinen is the "Responsible Drinking Ambassador" and is in the country to promote the "Join The Pact to Never Drink and Drive" campaign, which is Johnnie Walker responsible drinking social initiative worldwide.
Johnnie Walker also encourages consumers to pledge through www.jointhepact.com.
The campaign was launched in Malaysia in 2009 by Hakkinen.
He will be in Penang for a series of consumer activation events built around the Join The Pact Responsible Drinking initiative, culminating in his appearance at the Johnnie Walker Black circuit event. By V. Sivaji
