Pop in for some blended bubble teas

SERI MANJUNG: IF you are in Sitiawan or Lumut on a hot day and looking for something special to quench your thirst, head to Poppers for a drink or two of refreshing bubble tea.

The beverage parlour, owned by a couple Anthony Ling, 32, and Toh Jo Cyee, 22, is located along Jalan Lumut right next to the Petronas petrol kiosk here.

The outlet is small, simply because it is more of a takeaway service.

However, weary customers seeking respite from the scorching sun are welcomed to sit inside and sip their drinks.

Imaginative is the keyword in Poppers, where the walls are adorned with suffix worded signs of "Individualitea", "Oringinalitea", "Creativitea" and "Personalitea".

Similar to that are the categorised section of the menu which reads "Nuditea", "Simplicitea", "Fruittea", "Naughtea" and "Sweetea", whose 40 concoctions are perfectly blended with red or green tea, choice fresh fruits and a selection of ingredients to bring out the unique flavours of bubble tea.

Servings are priced at RM3.90 for a 400ml takeaway plastic cup and RM4.90 for a 650ml plastic cup.

For additional ingredients, there are "Boba" (a chewy tapioca-based texture often called pearl), aloe vera, grass jelly, nata de coco, oreos cookie, Q-jelly, red bean and sky jelly priced at 60 sen each. Popping Boba with yogurt, and Popping Boba with passion fruit are priced at RM1 per predetermined portion.

Poppers is open daily from 11.30am to 8.30pm.

For details, call 010-460 9211.
