    RM300,000 for schools, organisations

    SITIAWAN: On behalf of the Federal Government, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha presented RM300,000 in financial aid to organisations, schools, religious bodies and needy people here recently.

    Heading the list of recipients with RM50,000 was the Trinity Methodist Church, followed by RM20,000 each to the Parent-Teacher Associations of SJK Maha Ganesa Viddyasalai and Sekolah Ahmad Boestaman.

    Nine cheques for RM10,000 each were presented to the Ting Association of Manjung, Ma Ching Culture and Sports Association of Ipoh, Kampung Baru Management Officers Association, Sri Meenachiamman Temple Kg Pundut, Industrial Manual Group Workers Association of Manjung, Tabika Kemas Batu 14 Lekir, Semangat Baru Youth Association, SR Convent Parent-Teacher Association and Senior Citizens Club Pekan Gurney.

    Pangkor National Reserve Corp (Rela) Platoon received RM8,000 while Taman Fasa 2C Welfare Fund, the Royal Malaysian Navy Yacht Club Lumut, and Kampung Telaga Nenas Village Security and Development Committee received RM6,000 each.

    Armed Forces Archery Association, Seventh-Day Adventist Corp (M) Bhd, Ipoh City Taxi Operators Association, Manjung District Malay Contractors Association, Manjung Malaysian Workers Retirees Association, Manjung Ex-Police Association, Lekir Bestari Community Centre, Sri Kobena Branch Ezhar Kompang and Seni Silat Association, Al-Maarif Addniah Community Religious School and Pasir Panjang Laut Community Council Association received RM5,000 each.

    The Catholic Church of St Francis De Sales Sitiawan received RM3,000 from the Perak Menteri Besar's fund.

    Some 14 associations and organisations received between RM1,000 and RM4,000 respectively, while three individuals received RM150 each from the welfare assistance fund. By Peter Nunis
