Y's Men elected to the council

IPOH: FIVE members of Y's Men's Club of Ipoh (YMCI) and two of Silver State Y Service Club Ipoh participated in the Southeast Asia Regional Conference, Leadership Training, and the Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand District Council Meeting in Bangkok, recently.

FIVE members of Y's Men's Club of Ipoh (YMCI) and two of Silver State Y Service Club Ipoh participated in the Southeast Asia Regional Conference, Leadership Training, and the Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand District Council Meeting in Bangkok, recently.

The Y's Men were represented by Charanjit  Kaur who is also the Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand district governor, K. Letchimanan, K.N. Chandran, Chanika Letchimanan and Allan Chong Yong Seng.  
Josephine Lim and Lim Kee Seng represented Silver State Y Service Club Ipoh.

  Other members  who participated were from the Alpha and Beta Chapters of Singapore, Y's Men's Clubs of Dhaka Central, Bangkok, Chiengmai, Thailand and Hong Kong.
  Four members from the two Malaysian clubs also earned recognition.

  At the conference,  Letchimanan was appointed the regional service director (historian).

Three Silver State Y Service Club Ipoh members, who were not present at the conference were also appointed to posts. Rose Chong was appointed regional service director (community service),  Chew Wai Kong regional service director (youth, educational exchange programme) and Helen Cheah regional service director (Y's extension support programme).

  Y's Men International Asia Area president Wichian Boonmapajorn, in his speech,  introduced the current leaders to the participants.

  Charanjit, on behalf of YMCI, presented a certificate of appreciation  to Thai couple Siraphat Weerathavorn and their son Suphitcha for their excellent community service.
 
  One of the conference highlights was dinner on the Cruise Riverside Bangkok.

  Letchimanan said it was a  spectacular sight to behold as they cruised past the Grand Palace Bangkok and famous temples.

  The next conference will be at Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort in Batu Gajah, Perak, in May next year.
