Minda Pondok-pondok again challenges Pas leaders to debate

BESUT: Minda Pondok-Pondok Negeri Kelantan has once again challenged PAS leaders, particularly Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat to a debate to find a solution over the 'Umno infidel message' and bizarre fatwa (edict).

Its chairman, Zainal Abidin Awang said Minda Pondok-Pondok wanted to debate either with Nik Abdul Aziz or PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang for making ludicrous remarks which were often taken as fatwa by PAS followers.
"I had challenged PAS leaders, especially Nik Aziz to a debate for the past two years but to no avail," he told reporters after giving a ceramah themed 'Seven Reasons Why It is Taboo to Vote for PAS' which was attended by over 5,000 people in Jerteh Souq here last night.
On the latest fatwa by Nik Aziz that prayers by Muslims in Umno would not earn divine merits, Zainal Abidin said the divine merits were determined by God and not Nik Aziz.
Calling PAS Parti Ajaran Sesat (PAS), he said while PAS was making a wild accusation that Umno was against Islam, it had abandoned its Islamic state's cause in favour of a welfare state's goal after getting closer to the DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat.
In his ceramah, Zainal Abidin cited the approval over the use of the word "Allah" in the Malay version of the Bible and countless weird fatwa issued by PAS leaders were among the reasons why the people should reject the party. - BERNAMA
