KANGAR: The Perlis PAS has submitted its list of probable candidates for all parliamentary and state seats for the 13th general election to the party's headquarters.
Its commissioner, Hashim Jasin said the State PAS decided to prepare the list for all seats just in case something untoward was to happen to candidates nominated by other opposition parties that called for PAS to fill the void.
"PAS is doing the necessary preparation as the DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) might be discussing on seat allocation, he told Bernama today.
The Barisan Nasional won all three parliamentary seats and 13 of 15 state seats in Perlis in the 2008 general election.
PAS wrested two state seats, namely Sanglang (won by Hashim) and Simpang Empat (Rus'sele Eizan).
Hashim said PAS' probable candidates were made up of newcomers, ulama and professionals, including deputy spiritual leader Datuk Harun Din, 72.
"Despite his advanced age, his health condition allows him to stand for election. He has just recovered from an operation overseas," added Hashim. -- BERNAMA
