GCap inks solar purchase agreement with Aryzta Food

KUALA LUMPUR: G Capital Bhd's (GCap) 70 per cent-owned subsidiary, Solarcity Malaysia Sdn Bhd, has signed solar power purchase agreement (PPA) with Aryzta Food Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

The supply of solar photovoltaic energy will be done at the premises located in Taman Perindustrian Pulau Indah in Selangor.

Aryzta is a subsidiary of Aryzta AG, a listed company of Swiss Exchange.

Aryzta group of companies having a global presence, operating in North America, South America, Europe, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, are principally involved in producing and retails specialty bakery products.

"I'm pleased to ink this deal with Aryzta and progress together with Aryzta Group towards fulfilling the United Nation's sustainable development goal (SDG) #7 in ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all," G Capital executive director Datuk Yap Yee Ping said.

According to the filing with Bursa Malaysia, the plant will be contributing revenue and earnings to GCAP over a span of 25 years from the effective date. 

"As at to-date, GCAP Group has secured PPA and letter of award aggregating of 36.3 megawatt peak (MWp), of which, installation completed for 16.1 MWp of solar photovoltaic systems," Yap added.
