Nestle rallies Malaysians to nourish 10,000 families

KUALA LUMPUR: Nestle Everyday's #HariHariEveryday campaign has, seen the brand rallying Malaysians to nourish 10,000 families in need across west Malaysia via donations of "Bekalan Nutrisi" packs.

The company said this had benefitted the communities in Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) across the region.

The two-month campaign was spearheaded by Nestle Everyday with the aim of helping to address micronutrient deficiencies amongst Malaysians, which pose a significant health burden on adults and children alike.

Also known as "hidden hunger", micronutrient deficiencies affect one in three families in Malaysia who do not get sufficient micronutrients in their daily meals such as calcium, iron and vitamin C.

Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd milks business unit business executive officer Lam Pui Yuee said as part of the #HariHariEveryday campaign, Nestle Everyday went on-the-ground to educate PPR communities on micronutrient deficiencies and share opportunities for families to sample the nutritious goodness of Nestle Everyday.

"We are pleased to share that the response from the families was positive, and we hope that this effort contributes to help nourish healthier communities.

"A key problem for those suffering from 'hidden hunger' is that they are not aware of their condition and this could post long-term risks to their health.

"Bearing that in mind, educating the community about this issue plays a crucial role in helping Malaysians lead healthier lives alongside providing them with good nourishment through the 'Bekalan Nutrisi' packs," she said.

With every "Bekalan Nutrisi" pack containing Nestle Everyday milk powder, along with other products such as Nestum All Family cereal 250g, Koko Crunch cereal 80g, Koko Crunch DHA 60g and Maggi two-minute Kari noodles, the campaign helped support PPR communities in meeting their daily nutritional needs.

As part of the campaign, Nestle Everyday organised a nationwide contest with over RM100,000 worth of prizes rewarded to 95 lucky Malaysians.

This included the grand prize of a Perodua Ativa, as well as four Yamaha Eco Gear 125l motorcycles and weekly Touch 'n Go reload pins.
