11 companies keen to set up operations in Forest City SFZ [BTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Eleven companies had shown interest in establishing operations in Forest City, which has also been formally included in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).

Forest City, as the Flagship G, is expected to further boost international investment.

Country Garden Pacificview Sdn Bhd deputy president Syarul Izam Sarifudin said that the Forest City project has garnered attention from both domestic and international investors, with 11 companies expressing interest in establishing operations in the Forest City Special Financial Zone (SFZ).

"We have observed growing interest in Forest City from investors locally and globally. As the project developer, we are committed to driving the successful implementation of this plan," said Syarul Izam.

He added that the announcement of the FC-SFZ, duty-free zone, and the JS-SEZ is believed to be able to make this area the nucleus for economic growth not only for Johor but Malaysia in general.

"We will work closely with the state and federal governments to ensure that all planning can be done smoothly for mutual benefit," he said.

Forest City is planning to organise more seminars to address topics of interest to investors. On January 18, a themed seminar will be held focusing on Malaysia's only zero-tax single-family office.

On the same day, Forest City will launch the prebooking for the first phase of commercial units in the new year. The blending office and shopfront potential small office flexible office (SOFO) commercial spaces, located in Cerulean Bay, will be introduced to the market.

Syarul Izam added that the development of the Forest City project and its designation as an SFZ area have attracted the attention of foreign countries as they are keen on seizing opportunities, especially those related to financial institutions.

He also said that Forest City supports the economic growth and infrastructure in the surrounding area to further increase the attractiveness of the area in the future.

"In the future, Gelang Patah will be a preferred destination through the various facilities available, such as ports, access to Singapore, industrial areas, and also recreational facilities.

To further enhance transportation convenience, Forest City, following the successful launch of the bus route to and from the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link, is set to collaborate with Causeway Link again to introduce weekend and holiday bus services to and from Kuala Lumpur.

Additionally, Forest City will upgrade its island cycle line and transportation line connecting surrounding commercial areas, connected with Johor Bahru's public transit system.
