7-Eleven unit Seven Bank to install first 100 ATMs in four Malaysian states

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven Bank Ltd, the banking business of 7-Eleven group, plans to install its first 100 ATMs in four states in Malaysia.

The coming installation of the first 100 machines will be made in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang and Johor, before expanding to Sabah and Sarawak next year, the bank said today.

Seven Bank installed its original cash recycling machine in Rawang, Selangor earlier this month.

It targets suburban areas so that residents who have less banking function will be benefited.

"We have established a new brand name, Reachful, as a strong start in Malaysia and a continued growth of our overseas business," said Masaaki Matsuhashi, president and representative director of Seven Bank.

"By collaborating with our partner companies to deploy ATM services in 7-Eleven stores in Malaysia, we hope to enrich the lives of the Malaysian people and contribute to further social development and economic growth."

Matsuhashi added that Malaysia has shown a significant growth in population and gross domestic product.

Since its first overseas ATM deployment in the United States in 2017, Seven Bank expanded its business in the United States, Indonesia and the Philippines with more than 21,000 ATM installations by 2024.

Malaysia will be the fourth market outside of its home country, Japan.

The company aims to provide uniquely added value by combining retail and financial services in the future.
