KUALA LUMPUR: OKO's Get-U-Home Puncture Repair Kit, allowing drivers to patch their tyre punctures on-the-go, is now sold at Lim Tayar.
The do-it-yourself portable kit comes with a United Kingdom-certified ISO 9001 non-latex, latest-in-tyre sealant technology and a digital air compressor-cum-LED lamp (with flash-warning mode) that is designed to allow any one to patch up their tyres on the go in just 12-15 minutes to get them on their journey again.
Its 250ml bottle is good enough for wheel rims of up to 18 inches sealing a puncture of up to 7mm in the tread area.
To use, simply unscrew the valve core using the remover found in the bottle's cap and squeeze in all the contents using the tube provided. Replacement bottles are available at Lim Tayar and through contact with OKO.
Replace the valve core and inflate using the compressor once all contents are in. Then drive for a short distance, re-check and top up the tyre pressure, and then drive home (it is recommended not to go above 80kph) or to the nearest workshop for tyre repair.
A QR code is printed on the packaging that, when scanned, links to an OKO video providing easy-to-follow instructions.
The Get-u-Home digital compressor can inflate the average car tyre to 30 psi/2.1 BAR in five minutes without overheating. Just select the pressure you need and press Start. The compressor will do the rest, inflating accurately to the right pressure and then turning off automatically.
It is powered by the vehicle's 12V auxiliary socket (cigarette lighter) while the three-metre cable is sufficient for most vehicles - OKO says regular use of the compressor (at home or the office) when tyres are cold would ensure the most accurate tyre pressure. The digital compressor also comes with a one-year warranty.
