KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank recently launched a new app for easy money management called MAE by Maybank2u.
According to Maybank, the app offers new features that can better cater to customers' financial management needs, such as their daily money matters and goes beyond regular banking needs.
Maybank's group president and chief executive officer, Datuk Abdul Farid Alias, said "We want MAE by Maybank2u to be a pocketable digital bank but with many cool features to help you take control of your money and your daily needs such as paying bills and fund transfers."
"The app also contains new tools to help customers track their spending while encouraging them to save too," he said.
One of the features embedded in MAE by Maybank2u is a new tool called Expenses, which gives a rounded view on spending across Maybank accounts, cards, as well as QR transactions.
Furthermore, the expenses are sorted into comprehensible categories such as Food, Utilities, and Shopping for customers to manage their finances dutifully.
The next feature is called Tabung, which is designed to enable customers to pile up their savings in a fun, progressive and convenient way. It is divided into two groups – Individual and Group – where the later feature allows customers to save up with friends and families together for a similar aim, such as travelling and vacation.
There is also a complementary feature that helps fasten customers' saving time is by using Boosters that will convert their small spending into saving.
The feature comprises Spare Change, which rounds up expenses and transfers the balance into Tabung; Scan and Save, which credits savings earned from promotions via QR transactions; and Guilty Pleasure which limits customers' spending based on the limit set on the chosen category and amount credited into Tabung if the limit is exceeded.
Besides that, the new MAE Visa Debit card complements the MAE wallet. This makes it easy for travellers to get competitive foreign exchange rates and perks, both locally and abroad.
The application can be made via the MAE app and the amount in the MAE walled will auto-convert to the destination country.
Also, food-lovers don't have to worry about finding a place to eat. The Makan Mana Wheel feature in the app will assist them with dining options, and Maybank customers will enjoy promotions from its partner merchants across the country.
"Our ambition is for MAE by Maybank2u app to be our customers' trusted companion that improves the way they spend and save.
"We want to turn their money management, which can be stressful, into convenient and pleasant experiences. Ultimately, we hope it will help them achieve their goals and dreams, and enable them to make sound financial decisions," said Farid.
The MAE by Maybank2u can be downloaded from both Google Play Store and Apple AppStore, and current Maybank customers can undergo a simple security set-up for the data from the previous Maybank accounts to automatically be made available in MAE.
Meanwhile, the MAE wallet can still be opened by non-Maybank customers via the app and complete the application without visiting a branch with all the banking features and money tools accessible once the application is successful.
