#TECH: Agoda launches global coding competition

TRAVEL platform Agoda today launches its Codegoda, a global programing competition for software developers and engineers around the world to take part in and compete to solve algorithmic challenges.

The company said with a time limit of five hours, entrants need to find solutions to the issues using programming languages of their choice, including C++, Python, Java, Swift, Javascript, and more.

The competition will be held on July 17, 2021 starting at 2pm ICT.

These challenges are set by Agoda's tech team who help power global travel at scale managing 1,000 experiments running in parallel at any given time, and 1,200 deployments every day.

Agoda said this id the tech team responsible for over 220 TBs of data written daily, and oversees the smooth running of the trillion data events generated every day.

Participants can sign up at Codegoda.io from now until July 17, 2021 (2 pm ICT). The competition will be hosted on Interviewbit, and contestants stand a chance to win prizes worth up to US$10,000 (RM41,000). The last Codegoda challenge, held in 2019, generated 900 entrants and seven software engineers who entered the competition were subsequently hired by Agoda.
