KUALA LUMPUR: If you're into photography and would like to know more about this form of art, head over to Galeri Budi at Wisma Budi in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman to see a showcase of photographs taken by six photographers from the Angkatan Senifoto Wilayah Persekutuan (ASFON WP).
According to its president Shamsul Kamal Zakaria, the showcase is possible with the assistance of Yayasan Budi and Tan Sri Dr Rais Yatim.
There are 30 photographs on display featuring various genres of photography, namely landscape, human interest, nature, panoramic drama and oblique aerial photo.
With a theme Gambar @ Imejan Beremosi, Shamsul said the photographs on display portray the feeling of the photographers as they took the photos.
"All the photographs have stories to tell, be it about life, culture and tradition. They also show how beautiful Malaysia is during sunrise, sunset or even at night," said Shamsul.
"Besides that, we (ASFON WP) would also like to educate the public that the art of photography in Malaysia can be a source of income for many people," he said, adding that all the photographs at the exhibition are also for sale.
The six photographers involved in this exhibition are Shamsul himself, Mazlan Mohammad Jali, Mohd Shamsi Sumairi, Datuk Indera Dr Zaini Ariff, Mohd Nazri Sulaiman and Salliza Salleh.
"All of them will be at the gallery to guide and entertain visitors. A few of us will also conduct talks on photography during the exhibition," said Shamsul.
Besides Yayasan Budi, ASFON WP also collaborate with Fotografi Jalanan Malaysia (FJM), Canon Malaysia Sdn Bhd so that such programme would gain recognition from photography communities in Malaysia. as well as other parties.
