#TECH: Lunatix Origins wins ROG x Yoodo MLBB amateur league

KUALA LUMPUR: Lunatix Origins emerged as champion in the ROG x Yoodo MLBB amateur league, beating out 63 other teams from all over Malaysia. The team walked away with RM12,000 and 20,000 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Diamonds.

The team, comprising of Muhammad Anas Shouqi Azzizi (SyahiraOP), Muhammad Akmal Hakimin Ghazali (Keymin), Muhammad Faisal Ikhwan Mohamed Ridzuan (Ikayn), Muhamad Razif (Sizkaa) and Ahmad Irfan Danish Arman (Akaza), battled their way to the top and triumphed over their Grand Finals rival THQ Academy with a score of 3 – 1.

"Our heartiest congratulations to the entire Lunatix Origins team. They have shown that with hard work, persistence, and dedication you can achieve anything. The immense talent and skill displayed throughout the tournament were intense and proves what we have always believed in – that there is incredible talent and capabilities within the Malaysian esports community," said Yoodo's head Chow Tuck Mun.

With a 17.4 million strong market, the Malaysian esports segment's high-potential factor has been the primary focus for Yoodo as it enters many strategic investments in esports teams, tournaments, and partnerships, which have allowed the digital telco company to stake its claim in the scene as the go-to telco for gamers, whilst uplifting the Malaysian esports ecosystem.

"I'm proud to say that Malaysia is home to a very passionate and active esports scene, and our venture into esports is no ordinary one. It's key for us to play a part in the development of the local esports ecosystem and to provide opportunities for Malaysian talents to shine whilst finding creative ways to bring your favourite mobile gamers closer to you," he said adding that as an advocate for the grassroots esports community, Yoodo believes in the potential of Malaysian esports players, and hope that the partnership with ROG further cements the company's philosophy.

"We will continue to encourage and bring attention to these talents for years to come. It's amazing to see the community continue to flourish," added Chow.

The ROG x Yoodo MLBB Esports amateur league was coined through Republic of Gamers (ROG) with Yoodo as an initiative to empower young talent, while providing them with a competitive platform to showcase their command of the game. "The effort also doubled up with ROG's intentions to expand our presence in the mobile gaming world," said ROG Malaysia & Indonesia country product manager for Smartphone Business Unit Marcia Sung.
