#TECH: Yoodo to hold Pokémon Unite Malaysia Open 2022 competition

KUALA LUMPUR: Yoodo has partnered with The Pokémon Company to introduce the Pokémon Unite Malaysia Open 2022 with US$20,000 (RM88,960) to be won.

The partnership is expected to further strengthen Yoodo's position as the telco industry's e-sport player.

Pokémon Unite currently has 70 million downloads worldwide across all available platforms and the partnership as well as upcoming tournament marks the game's entrance to the Malaysian market.

Yoodo's head, Chow Tuck Mun said that they are thrilled to partner with The Pokémon Company, that is associated with nostalgic worldwide phenomenon.

"Pokémon Unite is more than an individual game, but a game that allows teams to participate together. We hope that the upcoming tournament will provide a platform for more Malaysian esports players to shine, furthering our dedication to supporting talents from the grassroots," he said.

Yoodo will be introducing the Pokémon Unite data Add-On next month in addition to their other gaming Add-Ons for Yoodo users for a 20GB data boost.

The Pokémon Unite Malaysia Open 2022 will begin on July 27 until Aug 20, with the Grand Finals on Sept 10.
