#TECH: Maxis Awards returns, calling for submission

KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis has kickstarted the third instalment of its Maxis Awards, and is calling for proposal submissions until Oct 11, 2022.

The Maxis Awards aims to empower, recognise and support outstanding Malaysian social enterprises whose initiatives and contributions drive positive impact for fellow citizens.

This round, Maxis is teaming up with SME and Entrepreneurs Business Awards (SEBA), an annual platform that recognises and identifies SMEs, conglomerates, and entrepreneurs who have positively contributed to Malaysia's economy.

Since the launch of the award, Maxis has recognised four enterprises which submitted green-themed initiatives and safety tech solutions.

"Since launching our Maxis Awards last year, we have been inspired by the innovative minds who have a strong desire to bring positive and sustainable impact to society. We are excited to once again take this journey and highly encourage enterprises out there to submit their proposals. We are also thrilled to work with SEBA for this round of the awards, and look forward to the collaboration and working towards a shared aspiration," said Maxis' marketing officer, Loh Keh Jiat.

Committed to fostering homegrown, sustainable initiatives to push the nation to the forefront of transformation from ideation until execution, with enterprise guidance and support from Maxis' technical experts as well as solutions such as e-commerce, IoT, cloud, voice and network connectivity. Maxis also supports through marketing and publicity efforts to help maximise the visibility of the awarded projects.

"SEBA and Maxis share common goals – to recognise the most outstanding entrepreneurs in the country and to support them to reach for the stars. Inspired by Maxis' commitment to foster digital innovation and deliver excellence for the progress of the nation, we are thrilled to partner with them in this leg of the awards to seek and bring to life the best tech ideas. We are hopeful that this partnership will accelerate the growth of entrepreneurs in the new, digital Malaysia," said SEBA founder, Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia's chairman, Nitesh Malani.

As usual, submissions to the Maxis Awards will be evaluated by a panel of judges based on a stringent evaluation process. Shortlisted enterprises are expected to present their projects to the judges, and winners must fulfil criteria based on innovation, role of technology, and clearly demonstrating added value to the community in a sustainable manner either economically, socially, and/or environmentally.
