#TECH: TNG green initiative

TOUCH 'N GO Group recently planted its first batch of trees through its Touch 'n Go e-wallet after reaching a 100 per cent virtual tree on the campaign's microsite.

This has been made possible by donations received from the general public via in-app and QR donations, a corporate donation from Touch 'n Go Group, and a share of the sales of specially created Mission GreenPossible Touch 'n Go cards.

The tree-planting event, hosted by the Kajang Municipal Council, was held in collaboration with Yayasan Hijau Malaysia.

The first batch comprises an estimated 2,000 trees, 1,000 of which were rare fruit trees planted on a 0.56-hectare site in Taman Tasik Cempaka, Bangi.

The remaining trees will be planted at a later date and location in the first quarter of the year.

Present were Deputy Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, TNG Digital Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Alan Ni, Touch 'n Go Sdn Bhd chief corporate development officer Lum Joy Deng, Yayasan Hijau Malaysia chief executive officer Amin Abdullah, Kajang Municipal Council president Najmuddin Jemain and Forestry Department director-general Datuk Indera Mohd Ridza Awang.
