Tried & tested: Crocs's Tulum sandals

I HAVE to admit I've never owned a pair of Crocs as I've always found the brand's designs to be completely at odds with my personal style.

Diehard fans of the footwear, of course, swear by its comfort. The brand's latest collection, "Calling All Classics", however, offers something for everyone, even people like me who prefer subdued rather than stand-out footwear without sacrificing comfort.

The new collection boasts an expansion of its line of classic products as well as new designs.

I chose to give the Tulum Sandals a try. With multiple straps that fit snugly and provide a comfortable grip combined with a firm sole, it suits my daily routine, which involves a lot of walking.

The straps are in a cheerful shade of red (other options include canary yellow and oyster) and the sandals are easy to mix and match with any outfit, whether casual dresses or jeans.

What I like most, though, is that they feel so light on my feet yet remain firm in providing heel support. As you grow older, you realise just how important heel support is because the wrong footwear can leave you in pain for days.

Most of the time I resort to wearing sneakers to overcome this problem but it's nice to have something a little more feminine to slip on with skirts and dresses but with the same comfort factor.

FOR LONG WEAR

Crocs Women's Tulum Sandals come with stylish asymmetrical straps made of soft, flexible Croslite material. They don't cause any friction or "cut" into the feet even after long wear and that's a plus point for those of us who walk a lot.

Very often, with strappy sandals, the straps tend to rub against the skin and cause friction after a few hours, but this pair did no such thing, even on my first wear.

It also comes with a metal buckle and slightly elevated heel for added comfort and support. It's one of those shoes that will keep your feet from feeling fatigued no matter what the situation, whether it's long shopping trips at the mall or a stroll in the park with your children.

In the new collection, the Classic Clog and Crocs Slide also come in sandal form. Two-upper straps offer more comfort and foot security while seven holes on each shoe allow you to personalise with Jibbitz charms to display your one-of-a-kind style.
