Yuna and Kin launch hoop earrings inspired by the singer

Singer-songwriter Yuna not only breaks boundaries in the music industry but also the fashion scene.

She has owned her signature turban style since about a decade ago and that style has gained a lot of popularity among hijab wearers, inspiring them to up their head scarf game.

In addition to her turban, accessories like hoop earrings are a staple in Yuna's wardrobe.

Her love for hoop earrings has led her to become a muse for a demi-fine jewellery label Kin which has teamed up with the Crush singer to produce limited-edition hoop earrings called the Yuna Hoops.

According to Kin, these are no ordinary hoops. The earrings are sculptural and are made of 925 sterling silver and finished with either 18k gold vermeil which requires a minimum of 2.5 microns of at least 18k gold, or rhodium.

Yuna was heavily involved in the design process as well, which allows both parties to ensure that the design reflects her sense of style.

"I love that the design is very minimal and classy – it reminds me of a relaxing day out at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, looking at art. I'm not a huge fan of fast fashion and prefer to wear demi-fine jewellery as they last longer and are more sustainable," Yuna says.

For the Kin x Yuna campaign, the theme was inspired by retro 1970s glam, featuring fashion and props from that era.

"Yuna has become synonymous with bold and contemporary jewellery, especially hoops. She has a very distinct style and confidently owns it, which makes her an inspiration to her fans and followers.

"As a brand, we wanted to create a pair of hoops that represented her and that she could call her own, so we worked closely together on this unique piece," says Kin co-founders Athiya Hamid and Zaireen Iskandar.

The Yuna Hoops retails at RM720 for the rhodium version and RM820 for the 18k gold vermeil edition.
