#Showbiz: Singer Aiman Tino makes acting debut [NSTTV]

Singer Aiman Tino, 19, did not expect that actress-director Erma Fatima would take his mother’s banter about offering him an acting stint seriously.

“My mother has always known that I was interested in acting. So, when she heard that Erma was looking for an actor to be part of the latest season of Mak Cun, she jokingly suggested me to her,” said Aiman, who debuted in 2016 with his hit single Ku Rela Dibenci.

Aiman plays Kumin, a new character created by Erma for the series.

“I’m grateful to Kak Erma for this opportunity. At first, I thought I’d be playing one of the extras. When I got the script, I was surprised to find that it was a substantial role,” he said at the press conference for Mask Run at WOW KL! in Kuala Lumpur recently.

He shared his experience on the set of the series with actors Umie Aida, Fazlina Ahmad Daud and Ziana Zain.

He mentioned a scene in the drama, where he was slapped by Fazlina.

“In that scene, Fazlina, who plays Kumin’s mother, was angry at him as he would not stop playing the guitar. So, in her anger, she slapped Kumin and even broke the guitar!”

Aiman, however, said it was not a real slap, adding that even if it looked real, viewers should know better.

“As soon as we finished filming the scene, Fazlina apologised to me.

“I understand that she was doing only what’s required by the script. Everything is good between us,” he said, adding that he would not mind acting again.

Mak Cun Season 4 is set to premier on TV3 on Saturday. It will air every Saturday and Sunday at 6.58pm.

Aiman, together with Azza Zawari and Shasha Saidin (of former girlband Elite), are expected to perform at Mask Run at Dataran Merdeka on April 15.

“I will run with participants at the event.”

Mask Run is a mask-themed run, covering 7km. It is organised by Resilience Studios, with cooperation from Kuala Lumpur City Hall.
