#Showbiz: Is Jacqueline pregnant and preparing for childbirth?

KUALA LUMPUR: Rumours that TVB actress Jacqueline Wong is pregnant are once again making their rounds in Chinese social media channels, according to a report by China Post yesterday.

Last March, the 30-year-old artiste was rumoured to be in the family way when she threw up while filming her drama The Maid Alliance.

She had clarified that she had caught a cold and that her then boyfriend Kenneth Ma had taken her to see a doctor.

Ma, who is slated to be in Singapore for the StarHub Night Of Stars event on Nov 24, broke up with her when she was caught kissing with singer-actor Andy Hui in a taxi in April.

The current speculation is tied to the continued silence from the 30-year-old who flew to Los Angeles to avoid the public backlash after the scandal.

Wong is said to be taking directing and acting classes there, but rumour has it that she is actually preparing for childbirth.

Some observers think that it is strange as her employer TVB has given her a second chance by broadcasting her shows that were initially canned.

Wong has not taken the opportunity to return to Hong Kong or issue a statement about her turnaround in fortunes.

Meanwhile, veteran Singapore-born actor Hugo Ng has urged the public to forgive Wong.

Hong Kong entertainment portal JayneStars reported yesterday that Ng told radio announcer Candy Chea on the RTHK radio programme Those Were The Days that Wong, despite her negative image was a serious, disciplined and talented actress.

“She is very smart, and quickly found her chemistry with the main actor Owen Cheung in our new TVB drama series Finding Her Voice.

“Private lives and careers should be taken separately. These are two different things that cannot be put together.

“We have all made mistakes before, that is why it is important for all of us to have forgiving hearts," said Ng.
