KUALA LUMPUR: Despite the close bond with Laudya Cynthia Bella, actress-singer Erra Fazira is never one to get involved in the Indonesian actress' and her ex-husband Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin's marriage.
The 46-year-old artiste admitted she was aware of their marriage troubles but refused to know the details.
However, Erra whose real name is Fazira Wan Chek said that her daughter Engku Aleesya, 11, was devastated by the divorce.
"I don't get involved in their personal matters even though he is my ex-husband and father to my child. If they refused to say anything, my lips are sealed too," she said.
"I'd be lying if I said I had no knowledge about the troubles, but I don't know the details nor do I want to find out," she added.
However, since Laudya, 32, and Erra are friends, the two have been staying in contact via WhatsApp.
"No one wants his or her marriage to end with a divorce. I'm sure both parties are sad that their marriage had ended.
"But I told Laudya that this is a test from God, and she has to accept it willingly. I'm sure there's a silver lining to this," she added.
Erra said this when met at the launch of Faith Fleur at KL Tower yesterday. The event was also to announce her as its brand ambassador.
In a recent news report, Laudya had confirmed the divorce news on Indonesian TV programme Insert, saying that the split was mutually agreed upon by both parties.
