#Showbiz: Nabila Huda enjoys learning Mandarin with daughter during MCO

KUALA LUMPUR: Versatile actress Nabila Huda Suhaimi takes advantage of the Movement Control Order (MCO) to engage in a lot of family time.

To make time pass by more quickly, she and her daughter Keisha Laila Zaidy, 8, have been taking weekly Mandarin lessons from an online tutor identified only as Nadia.

While admitting that learning Mandarin is not easy, Nabila Huda is determined to "speak decent Mandarin" someday.

The 36-year-old artiste uploaded a brief video on Instagram today, showing her attempt to say "Ni hao ma?" ("How are you?") to her daughter, but "tickling" Keisha all the way with her choppy pronunciation.

"We've just had our first Mandarin class together, and it's so much fun," said Nabila Huda in the caption to her video.

"Thank you so much, my online tutor or 'lao shi', Nadia. With her help, Keisha and I hope to master a third language soon."

Nabila Huda also advised Netizens to make good use of their "stay at home time" to learn something new, be it a language, culinary skill or mechanical skill.

"Instead of worrying when I can get back to work on the set of my new drama or film, I believe that this 'long holiday' is the best time to better myself by engaging in some healthy activities at home with my loved ones."

Actress Vanidah Imran said: "All the best Abil and Keisha. I tried to learn the language for a year, but gave up. It's not easy, with many different sounds to learn."

A Netizen identified only as Riana said: "Good for you, Nabila and Keisha. This is a superb way for parents and children to spend quality time at home."

Keisha is Nabila Huda's daughter from her first marriage to Zaidy Zailani from 2008 to 2010.

Nabila Huda is married to businessman Mohd Izwan Johar since 2015.
