#Showbiz: Police record statements from Norman Hakim, Abby Abadi, 3 others

KUALA LUMPUR: The police have recorded statements by five adults including actor Norman Hakim and his former actress wife Abby Abadi following recent viral Raya photos of them and their families, allegedly in violation of the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Ampang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak said that the two artistes and three others at Ampang Jaya Police District Headquarters at 10am today.

"The case is still under investigations and we will refer to the deputy public prosecutor for further directives," said Mohamad Farouk in a news report today.

Earlier, photos of the 45-year-old actor celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri with all his family members, including Abby's family went viral prompting a police report being lodged over an alleged breach of SOP.

In a previous news report, Mohamad Farouk said the photos had shown that they had flouted the SOP, which forbade any gathering with family members who are not living under the same roof.

"We believe some of them in the photo were from a different household.

"The celebration was believed to have taken place at the actor's house in Hulu Kelang last Thursday," he said.

He added that the gathering clearly breached the National Security Council's guidelines for Aidilfitri, which stated no visiting allowed during this period due to the rising number of daily new Covid-19 infections.
