#Showbiz: After several months, Syamel, Ernie forced to sell their restaurant

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular duet couple Syamel Fodzly and Ernie Zakri have parted ways with their restaurant, Se-Table Cafe which opened last December.

Ernie said that they sold their restaurant located in Platinum Walk, Setapak a few months ago, and it was not because of poor business caused by the Movement Control Order (MCO).

"We had problems with some of our business partners, so we decided to sell it. As for the MCO, it didn't really affect the business, customers came as usual," said Ernie in a news report today.

Syamel, 27, and Ernie, 28, are "spending quality time" together, and selling frozen keropok lekor from home. Ernie said that their new business was "encouraging".

"There is nothing better than spending time together. So in a way, the lockdown has helped us," she said.

Ernie and Syamel wed on March 26 in Masjid Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor.

Se-Table Cafe serves Eastern and Western fare, and was Syamel's brainchild.

The duo first met when they were contestants in the reality show Duo Star four years ago.
