KUALA LUMPUR: South Korean boy band NCT member Taeil Moon has set a new Guinness World record for the shortest time to reach a million Instagram followers.
According to the Guinness World Records website recently, the 27-year-old artiste whose full name is Moon Tae-il, garnered seven digits worth of followers in just an hour and 45 minutes after his first post.
On its official Twitter account, Guinness World Records tweeted: "Congratulations to @NCTsmtown's Taeil Moon who's set a new record for the fastest time to reach 1M followers on Instagram… just one hour and 45mins!"
Taeil's account @mo.on_air, which was created on July 6, now has two million followers.
He only follows seven other IG accounts, all of which belong to NCT band members.
"Thank you to all the fans. I was so surprised when I heard the news.
"I never imagined myself becoming a Guinness World Records title holder and am truly grateful for all the love and support," he said in response to the record he created.
After making his debut in the 23-member NCT in 2016, the singer also joined its popular sub-units NCT U and NCT 127.
