KUALA LUMPUR: Singaporean singer Aliff Aziz emerged as the winner at the final of Gegar Vaganza Season 8 (GV8) held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre last night.
At the finals, the six finalists performed three songs — solo, duet and battle (against another finalist) segments — to win the title which comes with a cash prize of RM100,000 and a trophy.
Aliff, 30, sang Sampai Syurga for his solo performance, Dealova for his duet with Hafiz Suip and Bangun with Aweera in the battle segment.
Nikki Palikat won second place (with cash prize of RM50,000), Suki at third place (RM30,000) and Adibah Noor at fourth place (RM20,000).
Azan Scan and Aweera, who ended up in the fifth and sixth place, walked home with RM15,000 and RM10,000 respectively.
The final concert last night was judged by Datuk Ramli MS, Hetty Koes Endang, Datuk Syafinaz Selamat and Joe Flizzow.
The 10-week programme was co-hosted by Nabil Ahmad and Jihan Muse.
Other participants included Shidee, Nico G, Datuk Fazley Yaakob, Upiak, Bandi Amuk, Saiful Apek & Yassin (SA.YA) and Ani Mayuni.
