#Showbiz: Vanidah Imran receives her master's degree from UM

KUALA LUMPUR: After four years of going back to school, actress Vanidah Imran is now a proud owner of the Master's degree in Performing Arts (Drama) from Universiti Malaya.

The 48-year-old artiste was among 7,682 graduates who received their graduation scrolls during the university's 61st convocation ceremony at Dewan Tunku Canselor last Saturday.

"I'm glad that I've finally completed this journey which hadn't been easy, considering that I also had to juggle work and family simultenously.

"I'm also thankful to have coursemates who kept encouraging one another to keep on with our struggles to finish this Master's programme," said Vanidah who is also a lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA's College of Creative Arts, in a press statement.

The mother of two also dedicated her achievement to her father Imran Abdullah @ Indiran Koothayan whom she said was her "first love, advisor and motivator."

In 2015, Vanidah graduated from Open University Malaysia with a bachelor's degree in English studies.
