#Showbiz: Pertubuhan Kasih Neelofa puts out special edition Quran for wakaf programme

KUALA LUMPUR: Former TV host and entrepreneur Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor has recently launched a special edition of the Holy Quran as an initiative to encourage Quran reading among the Muslim community.

The 33-year-old celebrity said that through Pertubuhan Kasih Neelofa (PKN) which she chaired, 30,000 copies would be donated via a wakaf programme.

"I've had this plan to print the Quran under this organisation for sometime now. But it's not easy to do so as there are strict regulations and limitations to print the holy book.

"But praise be to God, we finally realised this dream through a co-operation with Yayasan Restu," she said in a news report today.

Neelofa said that public could also join the wakaf programme through donation made to PKN, which would then help distribute the Quran to mosques, madrasah and tahfiz centres.
