#Showbiz: Zaleha Hamid's condition improves

KUALA LUMPUR: After suffering from a stroke two years ago, popular 1980s singer Zaleha Hamid's health is on the mend.

The 65-year-old artiste is being cared by her husband Ungku Sulaiman Ungku Aziz at their home at Uda Utama People's Housing Project in Johor Baru.

"Praise be to God, my wife's health is improving. She can now communicate, eat, drink and even go to the toilet," said Ungku Sulaiman, 56 in a news report yesterday.

He added: "Although she still hasn't regained much strength, her muscles seemed to be recovering a little.

"Her memory is also slowly improving as she can respond to our questions. She can also recognise and remember who I am now."

The veteran singer suffered a stroke after a fall in the bathroom on Dec 23, 2019.
