#Showbiz Stray Kids debuts on Billboard 200 at No.1

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular K-Pop group Stray Kids made an impressive debut by entering Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart at the top spot.

According to Soompi, Billboard announced yesterday that the eight-member music outfit from JYP Entertainment had achieved the milestone with its latest mini album, Oddinary, for the weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the US.

This accomplishment also makes Stray Kids the third Korean artiste in history to ever top that particular chart.

The previous artistes to hit the No.1 spot on the Billboard 200 were K-Pop juggernaut BTS and SuperM.

Stray Kids' Oddinary has also become the 13th mostly non-English-language album in Billboard history to ever take the No.1 position.

Apparently, the new album had made the highest US sales week of any album released so far this year.

According to Luminate (formerly MRC Data), Oddinary earned a total of 110,000 equivalent album units during the week ending on March 24.

The album's total score consisted of 103,000 traditional album sales (the most of any 2022 album) and 6,500 streaming equivalent album units, which translates to 10.09 million on-demand audio streams over the course of the week.

Stray Kids' Oddinary and title track Maniac also recently entered the UK's Official Albums Chart and Official Singles Chart respectively for the first time.
