#Showbiz: Mas Idayu to tie the knot in September

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer Mas Idayu is expected to wed TV3 executive producer Muhammad Sufian Che Isa in September.

The Cintaku 100% songbird said that she had known Sufian since Season 3 of the reality TV singing competition Mentor in 2008.

However, their relationship only started to get serious about several months ago.

"Honestly, I never expected to be going through this phase again. What more, after living as a singleton for the past 15 years. But I had only started praying the last two years to find a good man.

"Who would have thought that I would meet someone from a group of people I had been working frequently with? Beginning with some teasing from friends during Lagu Cinta Kita (LCK) last year, our relationship eventually blossomed into a serious one.

"The LCK contestants didn't get married but we will be tying the knot instead. This is what is said to be 'jodoh'. Pray for us so that all our plans will go smoothly," she said in a recent news report.

Mas Idayu added that Sufian had already met her eldest sister.

"There was no need for a proposal. We both already know what's in our hearts. He wanted to see my family who were at the time just coming over from our kampung.

"I'm really happy. Not in the case of marriage but more the fact that I had met a good man who will be taking care of me.

"Actually, it was my daughter who had arranged for the locations of our past four meetups.

"In terms of our preparations, it's currently about 30 per cent completed. There are a few venues in mind but we haven't decided yet," she said.

Mas Idayu was previously married to actor Aman Graseka in 1997 before their divorce in 2006. They have a daughter Nur Dayini Asyiqa who is now 25.
