#Showbiz: Stream KLPAC shows at home during Ramadan

Those who did not manage to catch these shows live due to the Movement Control Order will now have the opportunity to do so with loved ones in the comfort of their homes via CloudTheatre.

Kicking off the edition is an invitation to enjoy a slice of Bali with the spellbinding pragina: EMOSI created by Emi and Zhafir Muzani, both trained in Balinese dance by masters in Indonesia.

Some pieces are entirely authentic to the traditional art form such as the ceremonial dance piece Puspa Mekar and classical Legong Kraton (which has been recognised by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage).

Other pieces cross over to the contemporary such as I Mario's Kebyar Duduk with its challenging and awe-inspiring half-seated dance moves, EMOSI: 2020 and a Balinese flute performance entitled ROH' by well-known flautist MK Ridzuan.

WFH@klpac Ramadhan Edition also serves up a rare chance to relive the glorious heydays of Bangsawan theatre complete with its colourful costumes and characters, as well as live music, dance and comedic elements.

This production titled Hikayat Si Miskin Menjadi Raja was adapted from Mark Twain's The Prince And The Pauper, which was staged as part of Yayasan Hasanah's ArtsFAS 2021.

Directed by Dr Marlenny Deenerwan who has dedicated more than 20 years of her life to this art form, this show was a tribute to her guru the late National Laureate Rahman B.

This mega production which involved close to 60 cast and crew members was the first Bangsawan show to take be staged live post-MCO.

Originally performed in Bahasa Malaysia, the screening will also feature English subtitles.

Since 2004, Datuk Dr Faridah Merican's brainchild Life Sdn Bhd series has been moving people time and again.

Nothing beats the power of stories, real ones, based on a person's life experience, hardship, challenges and triumphs.

Life Sdn Bhd: Differences brought out the real stories from eight individuals that would touch your raw nerves but yet make you smile, chuckle or hide that pain behind a laugh.

Tickets for each show during the Watch From Home: Ramadhan Edition period, range from RM25 to RM100 and can be purchased online via www.cloudtheatre.com.
