#Showbiz: S. Korean actor Kim Woo-bin set to make a comeback after fighting cancer

KUALA LUMPUR: After a six-year break to battle cancer, popular South Korean actor Kim Woo-bin is expected to make a return to acting with drama series, Our Blues.

The Economic Times reported recently that while the 33-year-old artiste was thrilled to get back to work, he was also anxious about it.

"I'm nervous. It's been quite some time. So I am very nervous. I did appear on a scripted variety show and some commercials.

"But I'm so happy and thankful that I'm able to appear in a drama series and to meet you all," he said to reporters at a press conference of the drama series held in Seoul, which was also streamed globally.

Also starring in the drama was his former love interest, actress Shin Min-ah.

Kim, best known in A Gentleman's Dignity, School 2013 and The Heirs, last acted in 2016 for drama series Uncontrollably Fond, before he was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in 2017.

He then took a break from acting to focus on his treatment. He announced his recovery in 2019.
