#Showbiz: AJL winners SOG, Shila compose Raya song 'Seikhlas Hati'

KUALA LUMPUR: Rock group Sekumpulan Orang Gila (SOG) and pop star Shila Amzah, whose duet Pelukan Angkasa won Best Song in Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL) 36, have teamed up once again, to serenade viewers with a new Hari Raya song.

The Raya tune is part of Media Prima Television Networks' festive season campaign Seikhlas Hati.

It is written by Shila and composed by Raja Nazmin Shah of SOG.

"We were given four days to come up with Seikhlas Hati, and it was a first time for both of us," said Raja Nazmin in an interview with Berita Harian today.

"On my part, I came up with a melodious tune that targeted youngsters who could sing along and enjoy it."

Raja Nazmin added that even though SOG was a rock band, they occasionally loved to "create a good pop song".

Shila said that the song's lyrics focused on Raya celebrations in the "new normal".

"It's an upbeat song which expresses the joy in welcoming Raya. However, the lyrics also point to the need to stay safe."

SOG and Shila will perform Seikhlas Hati on tonton's and TV3's entertainment programme Soundstage: Shila Amzah & Friends at 10pm on May 7.

The hour-long show's executive produced Nurhul Huda Khalid said that it would not have a Raya theme, and would feature popular artistes performing their popular songs in an informal manner.

"Soundstage is a mini-documentary about the musical journeys of the artistes of the week. Besides Shila and SOG, we will have her friends Jihan Muse, Fara Fauzana, Zara Zya, Ning Baizura and Jaclyn Victor as the guests," she said, adding that the programme will be recorded in Sri Pentas 2, Plaza Alam Sentral, Shah Alam without a live audience.
