KUALA LUMPUR: Senator Datuk Seri Zurainah Musa has recently been appointed as the new chairman for the National Film Development Corporation (Finas) for the next two years.
Zurainah's appointment was announced by the Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa who said that the appointment was in line with the Section 4 (1) Act 244 - Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia 1981 Act.
Annuar said that he was confident that Zurainah's experience in various fields, would help in bringing progressive changes to the corporation.
"I'm certain that Zurainah would be able to assist in the further development of creative and film industry of this country.
"Similarly, I'm certain industry players will continue their support all government's efforts carried out via Finas," he said in a recent news report.
Zurainah replaced Zakaria Abdul Hamid, who completed his tenure on May 22. She is also a member of the Economic Action Council (EAC) and the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN).
