#Showbiz: Indonesian concert organisers 'chasing' Search

KUALA LUMPUR: Following the success of rock legend Search's recent Rockin' On Rooftop Concert, Indonesian concert organisers want them to perform in the republic later this year.

Rockin' On Rooftop Concert organiser Search Rock Station's representative Mozylir Mokhtarudin said that two Indonesian concert organisers had offered to invite the band for showcases in Jakarta.

"It looks interesting, but it's too early for us to make a decision. Search guitarist Noordin and I will be going to Jakarta next week for a discussion with one of the concert organisers and we both hope for the best," he said in an interview with Harian Metro Online yesterday.

Mozylir added that the first concert organiser wanted Search to perform with a leading Indonesian rock band, while the other wanted a concert featuring Search alone.

"Both of them have organised major concerts in the country and they have a good track record. However, we are also planning to have a Malaysian roadshow this year."

Mozylir said that if they went ahead with the roadshow, they could only perform in Indonesia in January or March next year.

He also said that Search lead vocalist Denden Gonjalez had returned to his hometown, Bandung, Indonesia to complete some singles for both Search and his solo career.

"The Malaysian roadshow will be held in several venues, including a well-known one which can accommodate 40,000 guests."

Search, which comprises guitarists Noordin and Kid, vocalist Denden, bassist Yan and drummer Min, had the Rockin' On Rooftop Concert on the rooftop of Campbell Complex in Jalan Dang Wangi on June 11.
