#Showbiz: Mahima Chaudhry back in action after battling cancer

KUALA LUMPUR: After battling breast cancer for sometime, popular Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhry has been cancer-free for the past four months.

The Times Of India recently reported that the 48-year-old artiste had said about having received treatment in Mumbai, India.

She also said that while she was recuperating for two months, her daughter Ariana refused to attend school, fearing that she might be infected with Covid-19 and exposed her mother to infection.

Earlier this month, filmmaker Anupam Kher shared the latest video of the star of the 1997 movie Pardes, sporting short hair, a result of hair loss from chemotherapy.

In the caption, the 67-year-old Anupam wrote: "I called Mahima Chaudhry a month back from US for her to play a very important role in my 525th film The Signature.

"Our conversation turned to her discovering that she had breast cancer. What followed is in this candid conversation between us.

"Her attitude will give hope to so many women all over the world. She wanted me to be part of her disclosing about it. She calls me an eternal optimist but dearest Mahima! "You are my HERO!"

Chaudhry is currently filming The Signature with Kher.
