#Showbiz: KLPAC tackles the Big C in new play

KUALA LUMPUR: A brand new play by The Actors Studio Seni Teater Rakyat will revolve around the prickly issue of being a cancer patient in You, Me And The Big C which is set to run at Pentas 2 of KLPAC from Sept 17 to 25.

Inspired by the true life experiences of the late Dr Aini Hamid, a breast cancer patient, the 105-minute play is co-written by Aini and Terence Toh, with Joe Hasham serving as director.

The story follows Amy, a thriving, modern woman with dreams of being a ballroom dancing champion.

Everything changes, however, after she discovers a lump in her breast.

As Amy's cancer diagnosis begins to affect her life and the people around her, her spunky teenage daughter Mia is determined to ensure that her mother doesn't face her problems alone.

Together, Amy and Mia face everything life throws at them with humour and grace, and discover not even cancer can destroy the special bond they have.

The production is supported by KLPAC and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC).

Tickets are priced at RM70 (students at RM50) with a buy-3-free-1 Merdeka & Malaysia Day Promo valid until Sept 16.

Purchase tickets online via https://www.cloudtix.co (no phone sales and over the counter sales. E-tickets only).

Note: The play contains foul language and a strobe light effect will be utilised in this performance.
