#Showbiz: BlackPink's 'Born Pink' 1st female K-Pop album at Top 5 for 2 weeks on Billboard 200

KUALA LUMPUR: International K-Pop sensation BlackPink continues to garner success after success with its latest album, Born Pink.

The sultry quartet's second studio release which dropped on Sept 16 has been making an impact on US Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart.

According to Soompi, Born Pink debuted on the famous chart that chronicles the weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the US at No.1 last week.

This made the group from YG Entertainment the first female K-Pop artiste to ever top the chart.

Billboard announced yesterday that Born Pink has kept its grip on the chart at No.4 for the week ending on October 8.

This then makes it the first album by any female K-Pop artiste in history to spend two weeks in the Top 5 category of that particular Billboard chart.

BlackPink consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa is also now the first female K-Pop artiste in history whose two albums have spent multiple weeks in the Top 10 segment of the Billboard 200.

Soompi reported that Luminate, a provider of music sales data, had announced that Born Pink has so far garnered a total of 40,000 equivalent album units during its second week on the chart.
