#Showbiz: 'Fit For Action' winners going under spotlights

TV3's Fit For Action winners are thrilled to become part of Media Prima's Alternate Records & Talents, as Groove finds out

LIKE it or not, in show business, one's appearance counts. But that's not saying it's the only thing that matters, either.

Talent, hard work, perseverance and everything that comes with the job must be included in the mixture, if one aims to succeed.

For the two new talents who recently emerged as the winners of TV3's programme Fit For Action, Raden Zaharatul and Muaz Zabir, they consider themselves lucky to have been part of the programme.

Initially a reality show created in search of new action talent, the programme was later tweaked to look for well-rounded actors instead.

Thus, all 12 selected finalists, including Raden and Muaz, had the chance to be trained under professionals, including wellness coach Nana Al-Haleq, award-winning directors Heykal Hanifah, Aziz M. Osman and Ellie Suriaty. Renowned producer Datuk Yusof Haslam was the head jury.

The programme, which aired on TV3 in September, saw the participants taking on various acting challenges as well as being guided by their "teachers" who also acted as judges for their acting skills.

The show also featured celebrities who appeared as weekly guests to judge and share tips with the contestants. Among them were Datuk Aaron Aziz, Erra Fazira, Farid Kamil, Nabila Huda, Janna Nick and Datuk Ahmad Tarmimi Siregar.

Mere chance

Muaz Zabir, 24, ended up on the show by mere chance.

"I was actually a fitness trainer but was out of a job due to the Covid-19 and the Movement Control Order.

"Then one of my former clients who was a TV producer asked if I wanted to try modelling and signed me up as a talent."

Before Muaz knew it, he began a brand new career and soon enough a chance to audition for Fit For Action fell on his lap.

After getting blessing from his mother, the Negri Sembilan lad went for the casting and managed to get through till the final lap.

"I started with zero talent. I took part in the reality show to gain more knowledge. I learnt the ropes and worked hard to ensure that I would last in the programme," says Muaz.

Looking back at his journey on the programme, he says it was filled with ups and downs.

In fact, he says, in several challenges, he ended up at the bottom more than once.

"I know that as someone new in the industry, the journey ahead is going to be a long one. I have so much more to learn," shares Muaz who is now a talent under Media Prima's Alternate Records & Talents.

"I plan to join several acting classes conducted by experienced actors from time to time."

Having acted in several TV advertisements before, Muaz is now taking a step further after emerging from the show as one of its winners.

He is scheduled to begin filming for a few drama productions for TV3, including Bukan Hanya Sekadar Cinta, produced by A. Aida Production.

Aiming to lead

Meanwhile, the female winner of Fit For Action, Raden Zahratul has been in the industry for a while.

Among the TV dramas she has appeared in are TV3's Ajak Oh Ijal and Kisah Cinta Rumi, and RTM's Siapa Ramie and Suatu Hari Satu Ketika.

"I've been in the industry for four years now," recounts the 23-year-old Teaching As A Second Language graduate from Universiti Selangor.

She started out as an extra, working her way up to land a few supporting roles, never losing sight of her aim to become a leading actress some day.

"And now, I'm very grateful to have finally ended up playing the lead actress in an upcoming drama series for TV3," shares the actress whose full name is Raden Zaharatul Maisarah Afzzal Reehan.

Right after winning the reality show, Raden was offered the lead in the drama series, My Mister Blind Date, alongside experienced actor Hafidz Roshdi.

"Praise be to God, I got what I had always wanted in this drama, which is directed by Idora Abdul Rahman."

As someone who is fairly new, Raden is ready to deliver her best in this 28-episode drama series.

Encouraging open discussions with co-stars and the director on the set, she says, will make the filming process smoother and a memorable experience.

The young actress is also involved in other projects, including TV3's Kerana Cinta Itu Ada and Inspektor Babyface on RTM.
