KUALA LUMPUR: A viral video on social media showing a man physically abusing his wife, is believed to involve the ex-husband of a popular dangdut singer.
The minute-long video was recorded by an unnamed individual and uploaded yesterday.
It showed the man dragging and beating his wife repeatedly on her face and limbs.
It also showed a little girl, believed to be his daughter, crying, raising her hands and apparently saying sorry to him.
It is learnt that the individual who recorded the video also made a police report against the man. In the caption to the video, he said: "The man locks his wife and daughter in the house and physically abuses them. He also physically abuses his housemaid."
Meanwhile, Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaid Hassan said that they had received the report.
"We are currently investigating the case," he said.
