#Showbiz: Siti turns 'weather girl'

KUALA LUMPUR: For those watching the weather reports yesterday, many were pleasantly surprised to see that the "weather girl" was none other than Malaysia's No.1 singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin.

Apparently, the 43-year-old songstress was invited by MET Malaysia to present weather reports, which were broadcast on RTM via its 5pm and 8pm news slot.

"Thanks to MET Malaysia for this collaboration.

"This collaboration was part of the agency's drive to encourage more people to tune in to the segment, which disseminates useful information about bad weather conditions and what to do during such situations," Siti wrote in an Instagram post she shared yesterday.

MET Malaysia also shared the videos on its YouTube channel, with the afternoon report having been viewed more than 22,000 times and the evening report recorded more than 4,000 times.

It seems that the agency's objective is met, when a Netizen commented: "I've never paid any attention to the weather report. But because of Siti, today was my first time."

Another hoped that this would not be the last weather report presented by the celebrity.

In 2014, Siti was roped in to present news on Astro Awani.
