#Showbiz: Stop normalising sick culture, says Caprice

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and songwriter Ariz Ramli a.k.a. Caprice has expressed his shock that a novel portraying paedophilia or sexual abuse of minors as part of its storyline has been sold for more than 5,000 copies.

In a video post on Instagram, the 34-year-old artiste commented about the novel titled Darlingku Mr Cold Mafia: You're Mine, Budak which went viral.

It not only contains pornographic narrative, but also tells the story of a 19-year-old boy who falls in love with a 10-year-old girl.

"How could a book like this get published and sold for more than 5,000 copies?

"You'd think this was written by a sick man, but it's actually written by a 23-year-old woman named Shadia.

"We need to stop normalising culture like this in drama, movies or books because this is sick," ranted Caprice in the post.

It is believed that the author was a student of Islamic studies at a local public university.
