KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran singer, Datin Paduka Julie Sudiro, died at 9.30pm, here, today.
She was 80 and was undergoing treatment for lung complications at the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Puncak Alam since Jan 9.
The sad news was conveyed by Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia (Karyawan) president Datuk Freddie Fernandez.
"I was informed by singer-actress Rozita Rohaizad. I then called her (Julie's) son, Jose (Jose Irmanto Sudiro Soliano, 45) and he confirmed it." he said.
He said Julie was showing some positive signs toward recovery but her condition took a turn for the worse today.
"Her passing came as a shock to all of us in the music fraternity. May her soul be blessed." he told BH.
Last month, Fernandez and some friends visited the jazz and keroncong crooner, who has been singing since the 1960s, at the hospital.
