#Showbiz: KJ is now DJ

KUALA LUMPUR : Former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is now a radio announcer of Hot FM.

Khairy or KJ will begin work at the radio station next Wednesday and will handle the Bekpes Hot segment.

The former minister confirmed that he was joining Hot FM in a telephone interview on Bekpes Hot with radio announcers Johan, AG and Datuk AC Mizal today.

"The offer to Khairy was made in an open letter on Instagram @hotfm976. He will be on duty as a radio announcer from 6am to 10am, Mondays to Fridays," said a statement from Media Prima Audio (MPA).

"Having him join Hot FM is in line with the radio station's tagline 'Yang Hangat Dan Terbaik' ('The Hottest And Best')."

MPA chief executive officer Nazri Noran said that Khairy's presence in the radio station will make it "fresher and more relevant" to listeners.

"Khairy is a strong social media influencer and his presence in Hot FM will give something different to listeners, as well as a new dimension to Malaysian radio stations. We are optimistic that it will attract more listeners to Hot FM."

Hot FM network content director Shah Hayatudin said that Khairy had good ideas to "add colour" to Bekpes Hot, and will share hosting duties with Fara Fauzana and AG.
