#Showbiz: Song of loss and hope from Singapore songbird Aisyah Aziz

KUALA LUMPUR: Singaporean singer-songwriter Aisyah Aziz recently released her latest single, 'Janji Kita Bertemu Lagi'.

Hauntingly sung in English and Malay, the stripped-back tune, currently available on all major digital streaming platforms, highlights the delicate inflexions of the soul-pop artiste.

The track, accompanied mainly by the strains of an acoustic guitar, is the first single taken from Aisyah's upcoming EP.

Where there is love and loss on multiple fronts, 'Janji Kita Bertemu Lagi' also focuses on acceptance, hope and uncaged freedom.

"The songs I am working on were organically written with my friends that I live with.

"It is real, raw and acoustic — truly back to basics for me.

"And 'Janji Kita Bertemu Lagi' is exactly that. Just me and the guitar, speaking from the

heart.," said Aisyah in a recent statement.

The accompanying music video to the new track is also currently available on Aisyah's YouTube Channel.

Directed by her good friend and videographer, Paul Lin, the music video was shot from the perspective of Aisyah's guitar.

"Having fallen back in love with singing on the guitar, it witnesses everything that happens in

my life without judgement.

"It is simple and it takes everything in as it is. Alhamdulillah, I'm beyond stoked to be able to work with Paul, my best buddy, on this video.

"You don't need a big team to create something magical," she said.

Aisyah's upcoming EP release, titled 'Til Death Do Us Part', is expected to drop in April.
